This page is the results disclaimer for carlislerussell.com. It’s a note about how to read the numbers, case studies, and client words you'll find across this site.
I show specific, real results, because proof matters and vague claims don't. Being honest about that proof means being equally clear about what those results are, and what they aren't. That's what this page is for.
The Services here are run by Carlisle Russell, an individual citizen of the United States, currently based in the United Kingdom. "I" means me; "you" means you.
The short version
The results and numbers I share are real and specific. They belong to particular clients, projects, and circumstances.
They are not typical, not averages, and not a promise of what you'll achieve.
Testimonials are from real people, used with their permission, and never edited to change what they meant.
Your own outcome depends on your business, your market, your effort, and timing, most of which is outside anyone's control.
Nothing here is a guarantee.
The results and numbers I share are real, and specific
When I publish a result like a growth figure, a metric, a case study, a "here's what we built and here's what happened", it describes a particular client, in a particular market, at a particular moment, with a particular amount of work behind it. I keep evidence for what I publish.
What that means for you: those results are not a typical outcome, not an average, and not a forecast of your results. I don't select only the best wins and present them as the norm, and you shouldn't read a single strong case study as the expected return on similar work. The same approach can produce very different outcomes for different businesses, because the business, the audience, the timing, and the effort are different every time. Bespoke work doesn't have a "typical result," and I'd rather say that plainly than imply a guarantee I can't make.
My own results
I also reference my own experience like work from my career, audience growth, things I've built. The same rule applies, turned inward. Those numbers reflect my specific circumstances, choices, and timing. They're shared to show the thinking and the track record behind the work, not as a result you should expect to replicate by following along.
Testimonials and client words
When clients or readers say something kind and I share it, here's the standard I hold myself to:
It's from a real person who genuinely worked with me or experienced what they're describing.
I use it with their permission, especially if their name or business is attached.
I may lightly edit for length or clarity, but never in a way that changes the meaning or creates a more flattering impression than the original.
If there were ever a material connection behind a testimonial like a discount, an incentive, a personal relationship that you'd want to know about then I'll disclose it. As a rule, I don't pay for testimonials.
I don't post anything fake, and I don't bury honest, less favourable feedback to make the picture look better than it is.
A testimonial describes one person's experience. It isn't a prediction of yours.
What this means for you
Any outcome you might have depends on factors that are specific to you and largely outside my control or anyone's, including your business and market, the resources and effort you bring, your timing, and a good deal of circumstance. Because of that, nothing on this site is a guarantee or a promise of any specific result, financial or otherwise.
As the Terms & Conditions also say: the content here is thoughtful, general information, not bespoke advice tailored to your situation, and any decision you make based on it is your own.
A note on what's for sale
At the moment, nothing is sold or paid for through this site. Consulting, speaking, and collaborations are arranged separately, under their own written agreements. If that changes and I begin offering products or programs directly, I'll update this page before I do.
When I offer a paid product, program, or digital resource, the same honesty applies. Buying it gives you access to the material and the thinking inside it. It does not buy a result. What you get out of it depends on what you put into it and on the same set of factors described above, including your business, your market, your effort, and your circumstances. I don't promise income, growth, or any specific outcome from a purchase, and any results, examples, or testimonials shown alongside a paid offering are illustrative and specific to the people who achieved them, not the typical or expected result.
Where I show a result that isn't what most people who buy the offering can generally expect, I'll say so clearly and, where I can, describe what the more typical outcome looks like. Refund terms, where they apply, are set out at the point of purchase and are not tied to whether you achieved a particular result.
